  1. Hi Miki,

    Thanks for your response.

It would be great to get information on what needs to go on the label. It will only add to the other information I already have. But, it's worth looking at it from all angles.

It would be ideal to know what the language mandatory required by each country? If 2-3 top languages would do. I'm primarily going to be selling B2B.

    Cheers Miki.

    Greg.

    Greg,

do you need info on the requirements with regard to labels (on the bottles)?

If so, let me know and I'll find out for you.

    Regards, Miki

  2. Hi Maarten,

Do you know someone who can help me with that? It would be great. Isn't there a software out there that can help me.

I will be selling directly to distributors. i'm going to make it part of the contract to ensure that we work through excise calculations before shipping it to them.

But, if I pay excise in the Netherlands is there an easy way to get a transfer done +/- to another country?

    Thanks, Greg.

P.S. i tried calling you but will try tomorrow again.

    Hi Greg,

What I miss in your question how you are going to handle the excise. As this is different per EU country I suggest you take a good look at this aswell.

    Rgds,

    Maarten

  3. Hi all,

I'm looking for information on all the procedures that maybe needed to import an alcohol product into the Netherlands and then onwards to the EU. The product will receive it's BTI soon and all the ingredients are allowed in the EU. The Manufacturer has HACCP and GMP qualifications.

    Questions:

    1) Do I need to do Food Safety tests to be done? Do you know any company that can help?

    2) Do I need other approvals besides customs and then paying all the duties?

    3) What the basic mandatory requirements I need to have in place?

I am also looking for the following:

    1) Insurance as an importer of Products in the EU

    2) Distribution partner to import and get these products onwards onto the EU

    3) Popular alcohol distributors you might know in the EU?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Greg.

  4. Hello all,

I'm looking for someone who has a copy of an Importer's Contract. I'm looking to import an alcohol product from a US based company. The products will come from Taiwan though.

It would be great if someone has an example for an Importer's Contract specific to Dutch Law imported from an American based company.

Thanks and Looking forward to hearing form you.

    Cheers, Greg.

  5. Hi Rene,

Thanks once again for your response.

We have the test done for the product for the US market.

We are looking for an agency/advisory/consultancy/broker that can help us classify and approve the product for the Dutch market.

    Or atleast guide us.

I just contacted SGS for the testing of the product. I may use their Dutch agency.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Greg.

    Hi Greg,

For testing food I prefer to use SGS. For the Taiwan Branche take a look at their site www.sgs.com.tw

    Good luck

    René

  6. Hi Rene,

    Thanks for your response.

I think after some research I have figured out some more details. I was wondering if you know any agency or institute that can verify if the product matches European Food Law.

I found the cbg-med.nl but I'm looking forward to their response.

    Thanks, Greg.

    Hi Greg,

As far as I understand, you are based in Europe (Netherlands) and want to Import from Taiwan. I think it is rather easy to find out if a certain product can be sold within the European Community. There are strict rules, described in the European Food Law. Google "European Food Law" and you will find all about this.

If you think the product(s) meets the requirements / regulations of this law, I advise you to get samples of the product(s) and have these tested and certified by an institute that is entitled to officially certify according to European law.

Experience of other people is useless because every case is different. You MUST treat every case concerning food as a seperate case and not rely on the experience of other people.

    Good Luck

    René

  7. Hi Maarten,

    Thanks for the response.

I was wondering is someone who has experience working with regulations and compliance to European Food Law to ensure that the product can be sold to customers in the Netherlands. I know food law is complex in the Netherlands and Europe in general. And, for a good reason.

It would be great to talk to someone who has introduced an imported food product and did the regulations before getting it into the Dutch Market.

Does that make the query more pointed?

    Thanks, Greg.

    Hi Greg,

1st of all welcome to Higherlevel. Maybe you can be more specific? talking about what? How to deal with exise goods in the Netherlands. How to sell? etc etc

    Your question is quite random?
