We want to form a not-for-profit organisation, ideally registering as a foundation/ stichting. We know that we will not be financially secure enough to begin with to commit to employment contracts, however as we will also be directors then it is unclear how we can recieve compensation for hours spent to grow and develop the organisation and bring in income.
Is it possible to be a consultant for the foundation if we are also board members? Or is there any other way that we can be paid that would not make the organisation liable when income could be inconsistant?
Each director will have equal rights and decision-making powers. We're not looking to take profit/dividends, but to give us something until the organisation is financially stable enough to formally become employees.
Thanks in advance, MIM
