Thank you. My activity is mentoring, and my income depends on the time I can dedicate to clients. At the moment, it is around €250 per month (one client), with the intention to grow over time. I would like to register this activity formally to be eligible for childcare (daycare) benefits in the Netherlands. And would like to know whether, with this level of income, is it possible? Dear community, I’d really appreciate your advice. I live in the Netherlands as the partner of a highly skilled migrant and I have the right to work. At the moment, I’m not employed, but I do have a small freelance activity. I mentor students online, supporting them with scholarship and university applications, internships (including international programs), English, and application documentation. I hold a Master’s degree in International Relations and have experience with scholarships and internships myself. Currently, my income is modest - around €250 per month (€3,000 per year) - and I’m still in the early stage, with the intention to grow over time. My question is: is it acceptable to register as a ZZP with this level of income, or are there any concerns I should be aware of as a new expat in the Netherlands?
