I am reaching out with a question of GDPR rules for freelancing therapist. I read the KVK website about the many details for GDPR; however I am confused to what extent steps need to be taken in GDPR if you are a working therapist? 

In addition, what are the different insurances that are encouraged for freelancers in the Netherlands? besides health and national insurance?

To the full extent, like any other company or freelancer.  Have you red the 10 steps?

(There is also an online helptool, but unfortunately only in dutch) 

 

An other option i stronly advice you is to contact your professional body or branch organization: they have all the GDPR/AVG information for your profession ready made.

• Professional Liability insurance (including for GDPR related issues)
• Disability insurance (insurance and/or crowdsurance) 
• A retirement plan (not necessarily an insurance,  a  savings account is more likely) 

For professional liability you can also contact your branch organization

What do you mean by "national insurance"?
