  1. Thank you, everyone for your feedback. It is greatly appreciated. It’s difficult to do solid research from 7500km away. Again, all of the feedback has been much appreciated.
  2. Yes. I’ve modified the idea but quite similar to those ideas. I am a network admin/tech by trade so I was going to setup my own secure network in the shop and have different levels of paid access each with perks and better bandwidth to go along with the free guest WiFi. The coffee and pastries are to get you in the door. The atmosphere, secure WiFi, and ability to study or write or have small meetings is what would be the “selling point”. I would also have available for purchase, short patch cables and USB-C cables, etc., maybe t-shirts as well. But if this idea doesn’t sound profitable or even break even then maybe I need to recalibrate. Thank you for your input!
  3. Ah, yes, thank you Hans. I will look over this site. It seems it will have some good info!
  4. Hello! I have tried to look up as much as I could such as spaces and rental costs for an approximate space of 50 M2. However, I am not very familiar with the area other than Google Maps. 😁 I know this idea is something that would not do well in the US, but I also know that brown bars and third spaces are popular in NL. This kind of fits that niche so I would really like to know if locals would find a spot like this to be inviting.
  5. I have a goal of opening a small café/community space shop in Utrecht in 2028. It would be a small cozy inviting space (8-15 people) where I sell coffee/cappuccino/latte using local roasters and locally sourced pastries. I picture a small couch in front of an electric fireplace, bookshelves with books, a few tables with brown paper and writing utensils. WiFi and soft music playing in the background under warm cozy lighting. I envision a place where students can come to study or write papers in peace. A group can have a small meeting regarding their new startup. A place to duck into for a warm cup of coffee while getting out of the rain for a few minutes. Is this something that could thrive in Utrecht or am I completely insane for this idea?
