International Business Incorporation & Tax Accountants

Is anyone able to recommend some reasonably priced qualified accountant firm we can register a Dutch Business branch with, I have recently moved to Rotterdam and Accountants in this city ideal but not Necessary. I have come across some but their prices are excessive for what i am advised we should be paying. Any recommendation/links would be appreciated - We need them for 2 business types - Hospitality and Real Estate

I think it's best to get some clarification to what you are actually looking for. 

 

Registration of a Dutch branche office for a foreign enterprise goes through the Dutch chamber of commerce, not via an accountant. Please check here.

 

Starting your own Dutch company (not a branche office) requires either a notary to establish a Dutch legal entity such as a BV (comparable to a UK ltd or a US inc.), or just a registration of a sole proprietorship or a partnership with the chamber of commerce.

 

In cases where there are more entrepreneurs jointly owning a company a contract between the entrepreneurs is advisable (shareholders agreement or a partnership agreement).

 

After that, you'll probably be looking for a bookkeeper and/or a tax guy/girl/person to handle your bookkeeping and quarterly VAT and annual income taxes. An accountant is not mandatory in The Netherlands until your company meets at least two of the three following criteria: 

12 million gross annual revenue

6 million total assets

50 employees

 be aware that " (Register) Accountant (RA)" in Dutch is the term for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) This Register Accountant is a title protected by law. and yes their hourly rates are (very) high.

 

If you are only looking for help simple accounting stuff and maybe VAT or income tax returns you should look for a "boekhouder" (bookkeeper) or "administratiekantoor"
Those have more pleasant rates..
